Renowned Scottish singer songwriters Karine Polwart and Kim Edgar perform to raise funds for Keep The Heid Mental Health Cafes which offer a safe space to talk about mental health for people living in East Lothian. All profits will go towards the running of sessions in Haddington, Tranent and North Berwick.
Karine Polwart is a multi-award-winning folk singer and storyteller. Her songs evoke a richness of place, hidden histories, scientific curiosity and folklore. Karine is a passionate supporter of Keep The Heid Mental Health Café: “Never has the need for mental health been so acute. Having a safe, accessible space for people in East Lothian to share stories and support each other is so important.”
Kim Edgar writes, records and performs across the UK, Europe and the USA, both as a solo artist and as a member of the Germany-based folk band CARA. Kim is a highly respected songwriter and her latest album Consequences features collaborations with artists such as Horse McDonald and Rachel Sermanni. Kim says “I’m delighted to be able to support Keep The Heid. I’m passionate about the transformative power of music in people’s lives.
